Tropicana Havana Room Wedding

I had the privilege of meeting Stacy & Charles while setting up for a wedding in this gorgeous space.  They happened to be doing a walk through of the venue and I had a moment to speak to them.  A week later Stacy contacted me and from then on we began planning this beautiful wedding.  Stacy is from California and Charles is a local so throughout the year I had the opportunity to meet with them for planning.  Every time I met with them they were so sweet and both had a twinkle in their eyes at each other.  Charles always had the perfect answer to his bride… “Whatever you want, dear”.

The day began with hair and makeup by Concierge Makeup.  The ceremony and reception took place in the Havana Room at the Tropicana Las Vegas.  The beautiful flowers were created by the ever so talented Naakiti floral who brought all of Stacy’s visions to life.  Stacy provided the vases so all of her local guests had an extra take away from the wedding.  The ceremony was officiated by Stacy’s Stepfather which put the perfect personal touch into the wedding.  During the ceremony since Stacy was not only gaining a husband but also a son, they did a sand ceremony to unite the three of them.  Catering and the exquisite wedding cake was provided by the Tropicana, including the exquisite groom’s cake of a camera (everything edible- see awesome photo below).  Charles is a videographer/videographer and with his surprise there wasn’t a cutting of that cake as he wanted to keep it forever.  The menu consisted of a three course plated dinner featuring: Lobster Bisque, chipotle caesar salad,  guests choice of herb grilled chicken breast or roasted organic salmon.  During cocktail hour the bride and groom’s favorite food chicken wings were served.  The Chef custom made the wings of their favorites: Buffalo Hot, Salt & Vinegar, Lemon Pepper, and Teriyaki.  Also during cocktail hour they had a violinist, Tony B performed.  The signature cocktail chosen by them is their favorite drink of Kentucky Mules. All of the photography in this blog and from their wedding day was shot by Indigo Foto.  They also had cinema created by K+A Creative.  The final personalized touch were their adorable wedding favors of maple syrup.  The story behind it being they are each other’s perfect match because one only likes the outside of a pancake and the other only eats the inside so together they have a whole pancake (with maple syrup of course). Stacy & Charles, I could not thank you enough for having us as part of your perfect wedding day.  I look forward to seeing your future together!

Four Seasons Wedding

When I think of Jinley and Mario’s wedding, I see glamourous outdoor elegance.  Having a Las Vegas wedding without actually feeling like you are in Vegas is something that the Four Seasons provides.  Jinley reminds me of myself as she knew exactly what she wanted and how she wanted it.  Every detail she wanted we made sure came to life on her wedding day.  Her husband Mario is quiet and just wanted her to get what she wants. (The perfect match)  From the invitation details to the cake and entertainment, every little detail was well thought out and executed.  Speaking of the custom wedding invitations, along with place cards and seating chart were all produced by 1st Impressions Invitations.  After first speaking to Jinley over the phone, we had everything planned within weeks so she could relax and enjoy their engagement.  She couldn’t have been an easier bride to work with and although she is from Hawaii, there was no stress at all.

The day began with hair and makeup by Sarah Redzikowski & team for 8 bridesmaids and the mothers.  The ceremony and reception took place at the Fountain Terrace at Four Season’s Las Vegas in April.  The weather was 80 degrees with minimal wind and the perfect spring day for an outdoor wedding.  The beautiful flowers were created by the ever so talented Naakiti floral who brought all of Jinley’s visions to life.  During the ceremony, the romantic music was provided by TAJ, a duo act from T Entertainment.  Rustic signs throughout the wedding were created by a very talented and close friend of mine Kelly from her Etsy Shop From Kelly with Love.  Catering and the exquisite wedding cake was provided by the Four Seasons.  The menu consisted of 4 tray passed Hors D’oeuvres: mini lobster club, beef tenderloin, Maryland crab cake, tempura shrimp served during cocktail hour.  The reception menu was a 4 course plated dinner that included: portabello mushroom and cheese ravioli, crab louie, roasted and carved prime rib, and their 3-tiered custom wedding cake served as a duo plate of strawberry shortcake & carrot cake.  (Check out the cake photo below… it was absolutely breathtaking).  They also had two ice carving luges from Ice Occasions; DJ, photo booth & Marquee Letters from Elegant Entertainment, and Bistro lighting from LED Unplugged.  All of the photography in this blog and from their wedding day was shot by one of my favorites Susie and Will.  They also had cinema created by Adam Trujillo.  The highlight of the wedding of course was having their dog Weezy as the Ring Bearer.  Jinley and Mario, I could not thank you enough for allowing you to trust in me to plan and be apart of your perfect wedding day.  I look forward to seeing what the future brings you both!

Please enjoy their wedding photos below and thank you Susie for capturing such beauty in every element:

Rochelle and Mark found me all the way from the UK.  I didn’t actually meet them until a few days before their wedding but I felt like I knew them forever.  I planned their wedding about a year ahead of time so we had lots of contact back and forth.  I heard mostly from Rochelle except it was so cute right before they came out to Vegas Mark was planning wedding day morning gifts for his bride to be.  We planned a foot/leg massage while she was getting her makeup done that really made her day.  He also wanted her favorite sparkling wine and bouquet of flowers delivered to her that morning.  It was so sweet.  Their wedding was unique because it essentially was a week long for them and all their guests.  They all came together and left together on the same flight so this celebration was truly an amazing group of friends and family.  Thank you Rochelle and Mark for choosing us to plan your wedding day! Here are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding day.

2017 Wedding Trend- Floral

Can I get married all over again?  After attending the Wedding MBA, I saw new trends for 2017 and one stood out completely to me: Floral print.  I have always been in love with different floral designs and I would say about 30 percent of my wardrobe has some kind of floral in it.  Of course with any trend, it can be over done.  Here is a few different ideas to add just the right amount to your wedding day.

  • The Dress- Incorporate as little or as much print into your wedding gown or the bridesmaids dresses like the gown:

  • The Stationary- Add floral print from the invitations (love it in the envelope liners) to the menus and place cards at the wedding:

  • The Cake- adding flowers to the cake is gorgeous but take it to the next leven and test your bakers skills like this:

  • The Place Settings- keep it classy with just adding a hint of it.  Choose from the napkin, or table runner, or my absolute favorite the charger seen in photo below:

Just keep the patterns similar throughout and simple.  Do not have a floral print table cloth, with floral napkin, floral runner, and floral charger.  Stick to just a few items spread out throughout the reception.  This is a bold new wedding trend and I absolutely love it.  If you are willing to try this style or something bold, I would love to be part of your wedding day! Aaron & Joey

From the second I met Aaron and Joey I knew I had to be part of their wedding day.  Not only for the amazing ideas they had but also just because they showed so much love and passion for each other.  Of course I all our couples are in love but these two were different because that sparkle never left their eyes.  Meeting them made me realize how important it is to always show your significant other how in love you are with them.  They wed over memorial day weekend inside of the Havana Room at the Tropicana.  Their request to guests were black tie formal and only black attire.  The details that went into this wedding just made it come to life.  As a couple in the entertainment business, they had to deliver and did they ever.  Aaron even had a chance to perform a beautiful duet with his friend Autumn that he sang to his groom!

Aaron & Joey, thank you for choosing us to be part of your celebration and trusting us throughout the planning process.  You both are an inspiration to everyone who knows you.  The love you two share does not come often and I am so thankful I was able to witness such a true romance.  There was a team of amazing vendors that helped make this wedding possible at the bottom of this post.  Lisa and Jamison, thank you for capturing this wedding.  I enjoyed working with you both again and can’t wait until the next one!  Please enjoy some of my favorite images from this romantic event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A very special thank you to all of the talent that went into this gorgeous wedding:

Golden Anniversary- A true Inspiration

Image

Typically I do not like to get too personal regarding my family, however, I think everyone can learn the importance of being in love and staying true to what you believe. I am currently running my business from across the country in Michigan which is easy to do, well besides why I came here. This blog is about my best friend and most amazing person I know, My Grandmother.

Just a quick one liner about our relationship is that there isn’t a day that goes by that I do not talk to her so this is what brings me to Michigan today.

About a week ago, I received a phone call from my mother saying I needed to get home immediately because out of no where we may only have a short time to spend with my grandmother. A shocking surprise I know because yes she has been sick and weak over the past few years but the doctors put her on all kinds of meds, put her through numerous heart and lung surgeries, and still did not see what was found the night she went into the hospital last week.

My family rushed her into the emergency room because they thought she had a stroke since she couldn’t move the right side of her body. While in the hospital the doctors took tests and found lung cancer and a mass on her brain. After a few days of tests, they realized that mass was also cancer in the brain and they would need to take immediate care of this. I, of course, came home immediately because it is so hard hearing from other family members and truly understand how serious this may be. We were in the hospital with her for 2 days then finally after seeing a neurosurgeon, oncologist, radiology oncologist, a primary doctor, and about 12 nurses, and at least 10 other members of their teams, we were told she could have outpatient radiation treatment.

We had no idea what this treatment was but today actually was her first treatment. She got full brain radiation which takes only about 10 minutes a day for 10 days. Today she was a trooper and walked better than ever out of her appointment. She is so strong and has the best heart and spirit. After being told she may lose her hair she goes, “Well you gotta do, what you gotta do and as long as it makes me better that is fine. I just want to be with my husband so he doesn’t worry”.

I have been taking care of her for the last 5 days morning in night with hardly any sleep. She goes through pain at all hours of the day but when she is strong, she is a fighter. We aren’t sure what is going to come out of this treatment but we hope for the best. The doctors all had different opinions on her and this was the general consensus so I just hope their best interest was at heart for her.

This brings me to the “Golden Anniversary”. Coming up on November 9th is my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. An anniversary where especially now a days is absolutely unheard of. Right before my grandmother was told she had options to get better, all she asked of the doctors were to send her home and let her be with her husband. All she talks about to fight through this is being by his side and fighting the biggest fight of her life with him. Not many people say that true love exists but I have had the opportunity to be partly raised by this amazing couple and truly they are the most caring, loving, adorable couple in the world. It is so hard seeing both of them in so much pain trying to figure out why and how this happened to her. There are so many unanswered questions that will never be answered. Every day when we return from the doctors, he asks me to tell him everything the doctor says. I tell him the truth but it never seems like enough because there is always that question in the back of everyone’s mind…”how long will she have” or “will this get rid of it completely”?

Right now all we can do is pray and hope that our prayers are heard and she gets through this. I will not leave her side until she is better and neither will he. All the pain and suffering she goes through now, she knows will amount to something better and get her back on her feet. Helping her laugh again, walk again, joke again, and play video poker at the casino again.

Every one has problems and couples bicker from time to time but when it comes down to it, you either love someone so much you could not live a day without them or you don’t. It is important to truly think, “can I spend the rest of my life with this person, take care of them truly to death do us part, throughout anything at all”… I hope everyone that marries sees this in their spouse because it is a beautiful thing to witness. My grandparents are a true inspiration to life and love. I know that I love my husband more than anything and hope we live long enough and beyond our Golden Anniversary just as my grandparents will.

So for anyone who reads this please just add her to your prayers at night. She deserves to get through this fight of her life.

Thank you so much!
