My last wedding at Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas

Mandarin-Oriental-Wedding-Photographer-23

First I have to tell a little story why this was my last unknown wedding at the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.  As one of my favorite venues in town, the Mandarin Oriental has never disappointed when it comes to weddings.  The wedding of Laura and Paul definitely was no exception, however, I didn’t realize that it would be my last wedding as the Mandarin Oriental.  I have another couple contracted with the Mandarin but last week we found out the venue will be the Waldorf Astoria.  Of course the name immediately strikes people as an upgrade which left my October bride in awe when I spoke to her.  She said I’m not that fancy but the sound of having my wedding at the Waldorf is an honor.  They still guarantee to follow the guidelines of our current contract in which I think they will only deliver better service than Mandarin already provides.  I’m excited to see the progress of the property and hoping they keep their best features.

Now to describe the gorgeous wedding of Laura (Lulu) and Paul Evans.  I met this fabulous couple along with Lulu’s parents about a year prior to their wedding day.  Lulu from day one was the most organized bride I have ever met.  I honestly wish she lived here so she could work with me.  It’s amazing how detailed oriented she was.  Both the ceremony and reception took place inside of Mandarin’s stunning ballrooms.  For the cocktail hour the guests entered the gorgeous foyer area so we could reset the room for the reception.  The couple had around 80 guests traveling from mostly the east coast to enjoy their wedding day.  All of their family and friends were the sweetest group.  When deciding on wedding dates we went back and forth as Laura wanted an early spring date but not during spring break times where a lot of kids would be.  We had the perfect Saturday come to mind which was St Patty’s Day.  The bride being irish and a love for the holiday it couldn’t have been a better fit.  I definitely didn’t know at the time this would be my last wedding as the Mandarin but I’m glad that it was because it was perfect.  Please enjoy the photos below from their amazing wedding day by Susie and Will!

2017 Wedding Trend- Floral Print

Can I get married all over again?  After attending the Wedding MBA, I saw new trends for 2017 and one stood out completely to me: Floral print.  I have always been in love with different floral designs and I would say about 30 percent of my wardrobe has some kind of floral in it.  Of course with any trend, it can be over done.  Here is a few different ideas to add just the right amount to your wedding day.

  • The Dress- Incorporate as little or as much print into your wedding gown or the bridesmaids dresses like the gown:

  • The Stationary- Add floral print from the invitations (love it in the envelope liners) to the menus and place cards at the wedding:

  • The Cake- adding flowers to the cake is gorgeous but take it to the next leven and test your bakers skills like this:

  • The Place Settings- keep it classy with just adding a hint of it.  Choose from the napkin, or table runner, or my absolute favorite the charger seen in photo below:

Just keep the patterns similar throughout and simple.  Do not have a floral print table cloth, with floral napkin, floral runner, and floral charger.  Stick to just a few items spread out throughout the reception.  This is a bold new wedding trend and I absolutely love it.  If you are willing to try this style or something bold, I would love to be part of your wedding day! Tropicana Hotel Havana Room Wedding

From the second I met Aaron and Joey I knew I had to be part of their wedding day.  Not only for the amazing ideas they had but also just because they showed so much love and passion for each other.  Of course I all our couples are in love but these two were different because that sparkle never left their eyes.  Meeting them made me realize how important it is to always show your significant other how in love you are with them.  They wed over memorial day weekend inside of the Havana Room at the Tropicana.  Their request to guests were black tie formal and only black attire.  The details that went into this wedding just made it come to life.  As a couple in the entertainment business, they had to deliver and did they ever.  Aaron even had a chance to perform a beautiful duet with his friend Autumn that he sang to his groom!

Aaron & Joey, thank you for choosing us to be part of your celebration and trusting us throughout the planning process.  You both are an inspiration to everyone who knows you.  The love you two share does not come often and I am so thankful I was able to witness such a true romance.  There was a team of amazing vendors that helped make this wedding possible at the bottom of this post.  Lisa and Jamison, thank you for capturing this wedding.  I enjoyed working with you both again and can’t wait until the next one!  Please enjoy some of my favorite images from this romantic event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A very special thank you to all of the talent that went into this gorgeous wedding:
